Computer magic

Computer Magic, Unbelievable!!

Hidden errors slow down system performance - FACT.
We highly recommend you run this free scan now!

Hey guys, I got this in an email today and thought it was interesting, so I wanted to share it with you guys. The second one really surprised me. Do try it out yourself and see what happens. And enjoy!
Magic #1
It was discovered that nobody can create a FOLDER
anywhere on the computer which can be named as “CON”.
This is something pretty cool…and unbelievable. ..
At Microsoft the whole Team, couldn’t answer why this
happened!
TRY IT NOW ,IT WILL NOT CREATE ” CON ” FOLDER

MAGIC #2(this one is the best out of the
three)
For those of you using Windows, do the following:
1.) Open an empty notepad file
2.) Type “Bush hid the facts” (without the quotes)
3.) Save it as whatever you want.
4.) Close it, and re-open it.
Is it just a really weird bug? Confused?
MAGIC #3
This is something pretty cool and neat…and
unbelievable. .. At Microsoft the whole Team,
including Bill Gates, couldn’t answer why this
happened! It was discovered by a Brazilian. Try it out
yourself…
Open Microsoft Word and type
=rand (200, 99)
And then press ENTER.

i can say that “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog” contains every letter of the alphabet once. I wonder if thats why?

It appears that the numbers used in the “rand” example have the following meanings: the first number is the number of times the sentence is repeated altogether. The second number is the number of those sentences grouped together in each un-indented paragraph. (Try it with smaller numbers and see.)

Actually, the folder named ‘CON’ CAN be created. A few months back, I downloaded the movie Con Air through the news reader Grabit and had the program make me a folder named ‘CON’. Granted, the movie was in great shape but i was unable to delete, rename or move this folder until i reformatted my array.

RE #3: Seems the exact numbers are not important.

These are all cool but the George Bush one doesn’t work for me. I’m running Vista so it must be an XP or older thing.

“Franz jagt im komplett verwahrlosten Taxi quer durch Bayern.” is the German equivalent to “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.”
A sentence which contains every letter in the alphabet.
Why they chose to output the German version is beyond me though.

The “con” trick is because of a popular trick from windows 95/98 where you would try and go to c:/con/con and it would crash the computer ;-)

I knew about the random text generator, but the Bush notepad trick was funny as hell.

#2 can be duplicated with a few strings. It’s because ASCII and Unicode both have no header or formatting information, and both are valid (but illegible) when read as the opposite format. A few short text strings cause Notepad to open a file as Unicode when it was saved as ASCII. Opening the “Bush hid the facts” file in Edit or most other text editors will work, and newer versions of Notepad can resolve it correctly.

=rand (..,..)
Makes random text. It is the same as Lorem Ipsum.. (Google for it if you dont know what that is)

Fun Computer Magic…
Although these are not really easter eggs, they are mostly bugs they are pretty interesting. CON is a device from way back in the old dos days COPY CON FILE.DAT means copy form CONSOLE which is why you can\’t create a CON file…
